Amy Blanchard, PhD

Amy Blanchard has been working with couples for over 20 years as a licensed marriage and family therapist. She works with couples from a wide variety of different races, ethnicities, religions, sexualities and genders. Her goals are to support couples as they navigate and strive to improve communication, trust, and intimacy. Dr. Blanchard takes a relational approach to her work, putting herself into the shoes of her clients and demonstrating unwavering support throughout the therapeutic process. Her approach is collaborative and relationship centered, with the intention that couples are being met where they are. She is trained in emotion-focused therapy and Gottman therapy, as well as discernment counseling.


Her areas of professional interest focus on supporting marginalized communities, first generation college students, and those coping with medical issues/diagnoses. She also has clinical interests in couples, women’s health, perinatal well being, chronic illness, adolescent and young adult anxiety and differentiation. Amy has a strong background and experience in integrated care and works from a biopsychosocial model of care.

Dr. Blanchard is a doctoral level licensed marriage and family therapist. Her bachelors degree is in human development from University of Connecticut and she holds a masters degree from East Carolina University in MFT and a doctoral degree from East Carolina University where she graduated in 2008.

She completed her doctoral internship in New Hampshire at the Dartmouth Family Medicine Residency Program. She further taught MFT as an assistant professor for 5 years at Antioch University New England Research.
