Meet the Clinician

Amy E. Blanchard, PhD, LMFT

Dr. Amy E. Blanchard is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over two decades of experience in clinical practice, academic instruction, and clinical supervision. She currently serves as a counselor at Bryn Mawr College and as a couple and family therapist here at Psychiatric Associates of Philadelphia.

Her professional background spans university counseling centers, private practice, and faculty positions in COAMFTE-accredited programs, including Antioch University New England and Plymouth State University.

Her clinical work focuses on systemic treatment of couples and families, perinatal mental health, medical family therapy, and integrated behavioral health. A published scholar and frequent conference presenter, Dr. Blanchard has contributed research on perinatal depression, family systems, and collaborative care models. She has also held leadership positions within state-level AAMFT divisions and community organizations.

Dr. Blanchard earned her Ph.D. in Medical Family Therapy and M.S. in Marriage and Family Therapy from East Carolina University, and her B.S. in Human Development and Family Studies from the University of Connecticut. She is an AAMFT Clinical Fellow and Approved Supervisor, with supervisory and clinical experience in both medical and educational settings.
