She is trained in both evidence-based medication management and psychotherapy, particularly psychodynamic psychotherapy and CBT. Dr. Patel has undergone several years of formal psychodynamic training and believes building trust and security to facilitate the therapeutic process. Dr. Patel works with adults of all ages and is only available remotely.
Dr. Patel is a graduate of Temple University Hospital Department of Psychiatry where she still works part time as a consultation liaison psychiatrist. She is currently Assistant Professor of Clinical Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University. She earned her medical degree and undergraduate degree from the University of South Carolina. Dr. Patel is currently in a two-year adult psychodynamic psychotherapy training program through the Columbia Psychoanalytic Center, which she will complete by June 2023.
